Network Seven - TV Turns 50

Sonia Kruger Photo

Last weekend was the 50th anniversary of TV being broadcast in Australia. In celebration of this milestone, our local TV channel Network Seven had a gala event at the Star City Casino here in Sydney, whereby all the TV celebrities came to watch the 20 most watched moments on TV. I went to the red carpet event beforehand and managed to take some photo's of many of the celebrities as they walked the red carpet. My apologies if some of the photo's are a bit blurred. It was split second chance that some of the photo's were taken, and consequently, neglected to focus properly.

Enjoy

Manly Quarantine Station Tour

Manly Quarantine Station

I decided it was time for a bit of culture this weekend so I went on a heritage tour at the Quarantine Station located in Manly. Here are the photo's I took. Take a virtual tour with me while I show you around the station.

Sunrise on Network Seven

Natalie Barr Photo

I went to the city today for two reasons. One reason was to work out the Network Seven control room frequencies for my radio scanning hobby, and the other to try taking some photos of the Sunrise hosts (chickie babes) Melissa Doyle, and Natalie Barr. I've tried this on three previous occasions, but the photo's either didn't work out, or half the team were off sick. Today's photos actually worked out better than I expected. There's a couple of pics of David Koch for the female folk out there checking out my site, but I prefer the Nat and Mel photos :)

Enjoy

Jenolan Caves

Jenolan Caves

My much anticipated Jenolan Caves photo shoot occured on sunday, and boy was it a top day. We had the opportunity to take tripods in the caves on a special photo shoot, which the general public don't get to do, so we were able to take some pretty nice photo's. Thanks goes to Nigel of www.dslrusers.com who organised the access, and of course to Russell, and Ted (the guides) for not rushing us and being great guides. The caves we went into are the Lucas, Temple of Baal, Orient, and the River caves. Enjoy the photo's.

Airside Tarmac Tour

Airside Tarmac Tour

I went to Kirribilli about 2 weeks ago and took a few sunset photo's. They worked out pretty good, but because there weren't that many, i've included them in the Airside Tarmac Tour gallery. The first half a dozen photos were taken from Kirribilli in Sydney. The rest of the photos were taken while on a Sydney Airport Tarmac Tour located near the Sydney International Airport. The tour was brilliant. I highly recommend it. I was in a bus, so a lot of the photo's have reflections, but nevertheless I think they worked out quite well. Enjoy!

Taronga Park Zoo

Taronga Park Zoo

I went to Taronga Zoo Sydney on Thursday to take some photos and experiment, but my damn 2 gig memory card snuffed it, so I bought a 1 gig Sandisk Ultra II memory card and decided to go back to the zoo on Saturday.. Well, here are the results. All in all, i'm pretty happy with these shots. All were taken in Portrait mode on my D70. I think I used the fill flash for some, but can't remember which. Enjoy!

Maitland Gaol

Maitland Gaol

Here are the photo's I took of Maitland Gaol located near Newcastle Australia. Unfortunately, many of the photo's probably won't make sense without an explanation. I really need to find some better photogallery software where I can put comments for each individual photo. Enjoy the photo's.

Circular Quay

Circular Quay Sydney

I went to Circular Quay Sydney one day to do some more experimenting with a polarising filter and a telephoto lens. These are some of the better shots from that day.

Parkour

Parkour

I decided to go to Middle Head one afternoon to take some scenic shots of the harbour, and while there I met up with some guys that were doing Parkour. For those unfamiliar with the term, it's when you do skateboarding tricks without a skateboard. Personally, I think they're nuts, but they allowed me to take photo's of their antics. It was a great chance to experiment with sports shots. They turned out really well.
